As a classic Bed & Breakfast, we pride ourselves on serving great, local food, much of which is raised, baked, and grown only a few miles away from the inn.
Tuesday through Saturday, guests are provided with vouchers for Farmhouse Bakery, just a five minute walk from the inn. The bakery specializes in artisan breads, delicious pastries, and fantastically filling breakfast sandwiches. Check them out on Instagram.
Sundays and Mondays we cook breakfast in-house for our guests. Expect eggs and sausage from Rockside Ranch, bread, yogurt, and granola all made at Farmhouse Bakery, and fresh fruit, coffee, and great conversation.
If you are eating breakfast with us on a Sunday or Monday morning and have any dietary preferences, please let us know, and we'll be happy to try to find options. And if you would like a farm-tour of Rockside ranch, where much of the food is raised, we are happy to help arrange a tour.
We offer 30-minute parking for loading and unloading in front of the inn. For the rest of your stay, please follow the signs to park in the fenced lot behind the inn.
The Bluebird Inn is located just outside Downtown Etna. Our address is 836 Sawyers Bar Rd, Etna, CA 96027.
Directions from Highway 5: Get off of Highway 5 at exit 773 in Yreka, and take State Highway 3 over Forest Mountain into the Scott Valley. Continue on Highway 3 until you come to Etna, and continue straight on into Downtown rather than taking the south fork at Highway 3. Turn right onto Main Street in Downtown Etna, continue for about a half mile, and the Bluebird Inn will be on the left. Look for the round signs hanging from the tree and front porch.
Kitchen: Guests are able to use the kitchen during their stay. We ask that guests keep dishes and other kitchen-items in the house or on the patio, and please label any food you put in the refrigerator with your name and room.
Fire Pit: Guests are also able to request use of the fire pit on the patio. Please request firewood before 4pm, and we will provide wood one evening at a time.
Bikes: Guests are welcome to use our bikes to ride around town. Bikes and helmets are located in back of the inn. Please wear a helmet, and please put away the bikes all the way under the covered shed to avoid wear and tear from the weather.
Games: The inn has a variety of indoor and outdoor games available for use, including puzzles, bacci ball, and corn hole. Please let us know, and we would be happy to get the games out for you.
